Generally, a search is made based on the exact search term entered. Upper and lower case are ignored. In order to get a more precise result, the following options are available:
Search for several words
e.g "car tyre"
Searches for products that contain both the word "car" and "tyre". If no such product is found, it will then search for products that contain either the word "car" or "tyre".
e.g. "car <and> red".
Searches for products that contain both the word "car" and "red". If no product is found then no result will be displayed.
e.g. "red <or> green".
Searches for products that contain at least one of the two search terms or that contain both search terms.
The asterisk ("*") is used as a place holder for any string of characters. If the asterisk is alone then all products will be shown.
Searches for products that contain a word that beings with "any" (e.g. "anyone").
Searches for products that contain a word that ends with "man" (e.g. "gentleman").
Searches for products that do not contain a specific term.
Round brackets ( )
e.g. "car <and> (blue <or> red)"
The results can be any combination of the search terms. Search terms are processed from left to right. By using brackets the search order can be changed. In this example the search is for a car that is either red or blue.
